Procreation is God’s Design
Key Points:
- God desires godly offspring from the marriage union of a man and a woman.
- Humans hold the power of procreation – the ability to create eternal spirit beings.
- Godly “well-trained” children can carry the knowledge of God unto future generations.
- God hates divorce because it separates what God has joined together as “one-flesh” or “one-complete-person” in marriage.
- God views marriage as a lifelong commitment that should not be disrupted by divorce (except in the case of marriage infidelity).
- Abortion is murder because it ends a human life.
- Human life is sacred in the sight of God.
- God created the genders as distinct – with different purposes and functions.
- Boys and Girls should be trained on how to fulfill their “gender-specific” roles within separate educational programs.
God Joins Male and Female Together in Marriage
Malachi 2:15 (NIV84)
15 Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.
The reason that God has joined man and woman together in marriage is so that they will procreate and have godly offspring. Only believers can raise godly offspring by training them to follow the ways of the God of Israel. This is why the children of believers are so valuable to God because they have the potential to carry the gospel into the next generation. God seeks godly offspring and this is why sex is considered “sacred” in the sight of God because sexual relations have the potential to create an eternal spirit being.
The moment of human conception brings about not only a physical being but also an enteral spiritual being. Humans are on a higher level than animals for this reason because only humans can create eternal spirit beings. If humans come to believe in and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior then this will result in them being saved and receiving eternal life.
See the link “New Creation Born of God” for more details.
It is because of this bible principle that Christians believe that abortion is murder because it terminates a human life. Also because of this principle Christians believe all human-life is sacred (including the lives of unborn children).
God Chose Abraham Because He Would Train His Children in the Principles of God’s Word
Genesis 18:19 (NASB95)
19 “For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.”
The specific reason why God chose Abraham was because Abraham could be trusted to teach his children and grandchildren after him in the ways of God. Thus the knowledge of God had the potential to be carried on from generation to generation – to all following generations after Abraham. As long as each parent does not fail to train their own children in the things of God – then the knowledge of God can be successfully passed onto all following generations.
It is because of this principle that believers understand the importance of procreation and having children and training their children and grandchildren after them to carry the knowledge of God into the next generations.
God Created Them Male and Female
Genesis 1:27 (NASB95)
27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
God created humans in both male and female and they created in God’s image. It is for this reason that believers know that human life is sacred and on a much higher level than any type of animal life on earth. Only humans were created in God’s image not animals.
God specifically created humans in two genders which are male and female. Christians believe there are only two genders and any type of effort by godless people to say otherwise is complete insanity. Even a three-year-old child knows the difference between his mother and his father so it is gender identity is something that is easily discerned even by nature.
Male and Female Made for Each Other
Genesis 2:18 (NASB95)
18 Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
The woman was created for the man because it was not good that man be alone.
1 Corinthians 11:8–9 (NASB95)
8 For man does not originate from woman, but woman from man;
9 for indeed man was not created for the woman’s sake, but woman for the man’s sake.
The woman was created for the sake of the man to become a helper to him that was suitable to him.
Genesis 2:20 (NASB95)
20 The man gave names to all the cattle, and to the birds of the sky, and to every beast of the field, but for Adam there was not found a helper suitable for him.
None of the animal life (including cats and dogs) were suitable to become a helper to man.
Genesis 2:21–23 (NASB95)
21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh at that place.
22 The LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man.
23 The man said, “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”
It is interesting how God created the woman because the man was created out of the dust of the earth but the woman was created from the bone and flesh of the man. Everything that was feminine within Adam was removed and placed into his wife Eve. This is why men have nipples which are traces of the feminine attributes that remained within men after God created the woman. When a man desires a wife (a female) then he is desiring all that is missing within himself. All that was removed by God in making the woman is again restored back to the man again in marriage. It is for this reason that when a man marries a woman (a female) he experiences complete restoration as he becomes “one-flesh” or “one complete person” in marriage. A single woman is not complete until she is married and a single man is not complete until he is married. But when joined together in marriage then all that is missing in both genders is completed restored again and the married couple becomes one complete person together in marriage with nothing missing and nothing lacking.
It is because of this biblical principle that Christians believe there are only two genders which are male and female. When the male and female genders are united in marriage they become one complete person in Christ.
God Hates Divorce
Malachi 2:16 (NKJV)
16 “For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”
The reason that God hates divorce is because divorce separates what God has joined together in marriage. The male and female become one complete person together in marriage and if that is separated then it destroys both parties just like ripping a person in half.
Matthew 19:3–6 (NASB95)
3 Some Pharisees came to Jesus, testing Him and asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason at all?”
4 And He answered and said, “Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE,
5 and said, ‘FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH’?
6 “So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
Jesus spoke of a married couple becoming “one-flesh” or “one complete person together in marriage. Therefore what God has joined together in marriage should not be separated by humans. This means that a married couple should not be seeking to divorce their marriage partners as long as they two both are alive.
Mark 10:9–12 (NASB95)
9 “What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.”
10 In the house the disciples began questioning Him about this again.
11 And He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her;
12 and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.”
Jesus repeated this same principle again as seen in Mark chapter 10 above. Jesus also said that anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery. The principle above reflects that fact that God sees marriage as something eternal or life-long so if the divorced spouse is still alive then it is considered adultery against her if a man remarries. If a woman divorces her husband and marries another then she is also committing adultery.
Marriage Covenant Endures Until Death of Spouse
Romans 7:2–3 (NASB95)
2 For the married woman is bound by law to her husband while he is living; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law concerning the husband.
3 So then, if while her husband is living she is joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is not an adulteress though she is joined to another man.
If a married person divorces their spouse and remarries (while that spouse is still alive) then they will be called an adulteress. But if their spouse dies before they do then they are free to remarry and they are not considered an adulteress even if they remarry.
Matthew 19:9 (NASB95)
9 “And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
The only exception given by the Lord for divorce is if one of either spouses should become unfaithful and they commit sexual immorality while they are still married. This “adultery clause” grants the victim of this unfaithfulness the right to remarry because they did nothing wrong but they were cheated on by their wayward spouse. Other than this one “adultery Clause” no couple are to get divorced until death do them part.
Based on this marriage principle Christians hold marriage to be sacred and they are to remain faithful to one spouse all of their lives and they should never divorce and remarry (except in the case of a victim spouse) who was cheated on by an unfaithful spouse and only these people are granted the right to divorce and remarry because their marriage covenant was broken by an unfaithful spouse.
1 Corinthians 7:10–15 (NASB95)
10 But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife should not leave her husband
11 (but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband should not divorce his wife.
12 But to the rest I say, not the Lord, that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he must not divorce her.
13 And a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to live with her, she must not send her husband away.
14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy.
15 Yet if the unbelieving one leaves, let him leave; the brother or the sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us to peace.
If one spouse becomes saved but is married to an unbeliever then they should not leave their unbeliever spouse if that spouse is content to stay with them. However, if the unbeliever spouse is abusive and harms them physically then the believing spouse can separate from the abusive spouse in order to keep peace and keep from being abused. The principle above however says that the one who is separated from her unbelieving husband should not remarry showing that God still considers marriage as for life and if their spouse is still alive they should not remarry.
Only the cheating clause frees them for remarriage but if the unbeliever has never cheated then there is no reason to divorce him but they could separate if the unbeliever spouse becomes abusive to the Christian spouse.
True Christians therefore believe that marriage is for life and that they cannot divorce and remarry while their divorced ex-spouse is still living (unless one spouse was unfaithful and cheated on them).
Based on these principles, Christians believe that God hates divorce and that they have made a lifelong commitment to marriage as long as they live.
Malachi 2:16 (NKJV)
16 “For the LORD God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the LORD of hosts. Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”
The married couple has being joined by God together in marriage to become one complete person in Christ or one flesh together. But if they divorce it is like ripping a woven garment to shreds across the fabric. Such a tear can never be mended completely because the fibers were torn and frayed. This is an illustration of what happens when a couple divorces. It is like a garment being torn in two so that both parties suffer irreparable damage. It is difficult for divorced couples to remarry and start over again because they carry emotional damage from their previous divorce. It is for this reason that married couples would make every effort to restore their marriages and determine never to divorce no matter how hard their married struggles might become. It is something they should never consider under any circumstances because God hates divorce.
Just because modern feminist bibles like the NIV2011 remove the words “God Hates Divorce” this does not give Christians the right to divorce on any whim.
See the bible translation mistakes link “God Hates Divorce” for more details.
God Made Genders Distinct
The overall concept is that God created male and female as distinct genders and these genders and their specific roles should not be confused. Men are to be leaders and providers and protectors and women are to be homemakers and raise godly children. Together they fulfill God’s plan to be fruitful and multiply and to pass the knowledge of God onto future generations. Any godless attempt to reverse or cancel gender roles should be resisted as men should be masculine and women should be feminine and their genders and their distinct roles should not be confused.
Procreation is God’s design for male and females to be joined together in marriage for the purpose of creating offspring and to train their children in the knowledge of God so that the knowledge of God will not die off on the earth but will be perpetuated from generation to generation.
Separate Education Programs for Boys and Girls
It is because males and females are different and have different purposes that each gender should be trained according to their specific gender-roles. Boys should be trained by men on how to become a man and to fulfill their “gender-specific” roles of becoming leaders, providers, and protectors of their own future families. Girls should be trained by women to fulfill their “gender-specific” roles to prepare them in becoming helpmeets to their future husbands and to become homemakers and mothers.
